After careful consideration the Council of Rudyard CRC has unanimously decided to begin resuming in-person activities. While we understand that there may be those within our congregation who may not yet be comfortable resuming such activities as well as others who may feel this action is overdue, we ask that every effort be made to respect each other as we move into the next phase of response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have resumed our 9:30 AM corporate worship services on 5/17/2020 and have resumed or 5:00 PM evening services on 9/27/2020. We are not requiring masks, but have some available if individuals desire to use them. If needed we can also open a secondary location in our fellowship hall to watch a live stream of the service on site. The church is thoroughly cleaned each week to aid in stopping the spread of any virus, including nursery toys. Offering plates are no longer being passed during the service, but instead individuals may drop their offering in the plates in the back of church or give online.
As of October we have resumed other programming (Sunday School, GEMS, Cadets, Youth group, Bible Studies, etc) and will continue to monitor local conditions to determine if any adjustments to planned programming need to occur. Please check our calendar for updates on scheduled activities.
We do ask that if you are ill, have been in recent contact with someone who has been ill, or have had a known exposure to Covid-19 within the past 14 days, that you refrain from attending the service in person.
We will continue to make the live stream and recordings of the service available online for those who are unable to join us in person or for those who do not yet feel comfortable joining with us. Additionally, just the message part of the service will continue to be available on our website and in iTunes.
It is our belief that the church has an important role to play in meeting both the physical and spiritual needs within our community. While virtual services have their place in attending to our spiritual health, just as telemedicine has a place for our physical health, they also have their limitations. We are admonished in Hebrews 10:25 to not neglect meeting together and believe that there is a benefit to our spiritual health that cannot be achieved solely through worshiping in isolation to one another.
Please continue to pray for our community, our state, our country and all nations during this time.
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- Matthew 10:28-31
